ABOUT CIRCLE DANCE Circle Dance (originally called Sacred Dance, or Sacred Circle Dance) is a modern development of a traditional dance form used in many cultures, both for sacred rituals and community celebration. Within Britain, its roots are in the Findhorn Community, Scotland, where it was introduced in the late 1970s by the German ballet dancer and choreographer Bernhard Wosien.  Originally comprising his "Dance Meditation" and influenced primarily by European folk dance, Circle Dance has since developed into an ec- lectic form drawing on music worldwide, from ancient to modern, from religious to popular.
